App Review: Study for Medical School with Inklings on iPad

By: Ravish Amin

Textbooks are becoming interactive, collaborative, and intuitive. They now allow you to take quizzes as they you are studying a specific chapter or topic within the book. The platform known as Inkling is built for the iPad. Purchasing specific chapters and developing notes that you can share with other students make this free app pretty appealing.

Features like vertically scrolling text along with call-out boxes, asides, learning objectives, and end-of-section questions make this app more interactive than a traditional e-reader. Ganong’s Review of Medical Physiology, 23rd edition is now available on the Inkling.

The following books are coming soon to this app:

• Lippincott’s Illustrated Review of Biochemistry

• Essential Clinical Anatomy

• Grant’s Dissector

• Neuroanatomy: An Atlas of Structures, Sections, and Systems

• Human Anatomy and Physiology
